Glycolic Peel chemically exfoliates a thin layer of dead cells to have a positive impact on the complexion. This treatment can be used to reduce the appearance of dark spots and restore overall radiance to the skin. By using glycolic acid, in different concentrations, it is possible to exfoliate more deeply the layers of the skin and thus stimulate the production of collagen. It can even help decrease the appearance of large pores and control acne under certain conditions. Our chemical peel is now enhanced with a series of new steps; our patients now benefit from a renewed and more complete version of this all-time favorite treatment. This is a medical grade peel.

Glycolic acid (AHA) is a product of natural origin, derived from the family of sugars or from fruit acid, like we use here at Dermapure. It works both on the surface and in the deeper layers of the skin, guided by one main objective: to dissolve fatty molecules and dead, dry cells that interfere with hydration and healthy oxygenation of the skin. Just like the stratum corneum that accumulates on the heels, a layer of dead cells also forms on our face. By removing these with the glycolic peel, the skin surface becomes smoother and softer and allows cosmeceuticals to penetrate more easily and do their job better.

Treatment Areas

The most popular treatment area for a glycolic acid peel is the face, but it can also be applied to the neck and chest areas. The back is another popular treatment area, especially when it comes to improving the appearance of acne scars.

The procedure is performed in clinic and it takes only 30 minutes for the full effects of the glycolic acid peel solution to be felt. Localized redness or tightness, as well as scaling are to be expected in the 24 hours following the procedure.
